How to use the JSON formatter
Format and minify JSON
Formatting adds indentation and line breaks to make nested objects and arrays easier to read. Minifying removes unnecessary whitespace while preserving JSON values.
Validate JSON syntax
JSON requires double-quoted property names and strings, valid commas, and correctly paired braces and brackets. JavaScript expressions, comments, and trailing commas are not valid standard JSON.
Keep your data private
All formatting and validation happen locally in your browser. The tool does not need to send your JSON to an application server.
